Campground Descripton: The Long Sault Parkway was unique in its creation. It is a series of 11 islands that were created from high points of land left after the flooding of the St. Lawrence River during the construction of the Seaway in the 1950's. In fact several villages once stood where the river now lies, a fascinating story captured at the Lost Villages display along the Parkway.

Campsite 174 - Not what we wanted!!! Rating: Camp Date: 7/21/2007 This campsite is the inspiration for this website. Last year we booked this site based on the look of it on the map, and the comments from the staff taking the reservation. We hated the site. It is a large field on the water. Problem is, the water is stagnent, and the beach was littered. No shade, no privacy. Reviewed by kirby the camper on 8/6/2008
