Presqu'ile Provincial Park
328 Presqu'ile Parkway
Brighton Ontario
Canada K0K 1H0
613-475-4324

Campground Descripton:  A mecca for birdwatchers every spring and fall, this peninsula south of Brighton is a major flyway for migrating birds, home to waterfowl and shorebirds, and a staging point for Mexico-bound monarch butterflies. A long boardwalk crosses wetlands where marsh birds live and fish spawn. On islands to the west, colonies of gulls, cormorants, terns and herons nest. At the tip of the park are Ontario's second-oldest operating lighthouse and the original lighthouse keeper's cottage.

Booked with family on site 146. Close to outhouse but a bit of a walk to the comfort station. On a very quiet road so great for the kids. Fantastic beach at Presqu'ile and we had perfect weather. The site itself wasn't very private and there wasn't much grass, but the campground was quiet even on the weekend and we had a great time.

Camp Date: 7/22/2010

This was our 1st camping experience, my 4 daughters, aged 14, 7, 5 & just 3 and Mommy. The site location was perfect for us - close to hot showers & flush potties, water tap, garbage bin and the road was perfect for riding bikes. 3 problems - no slope so rain puddled, all dirt and tree roots....it became hilarious as we would all trip many times a day and it was just silly. The park was amazing for a 1st...sooo family friendly, lots of activities, nature centre, lighthouse and camp sing-along were fantastic! The staff, Heather & Alison especially, were fantastic with my kids! It was a fantastic experience but we've scoped out site 155 for next time - a farther walk but huge & grassy.

This site is HUGE and grassy. Not a lot of privacy from the road, but lots of privacy from other sites. The site is roughly 100ft X 100ft and all grass, surrounded by trees on 3 sides. The comfort station is a bit of a walk, but well worth it!
