Rondeau Provincial Park
R.R.#1 (Hwy.15)
Morpeth Ontario
Canada N0P 1X0
519-674-1750

Campground Descripton:  Jutting from the shores of Lake Erie, this enormous crescent-shaped sandspit features delicate dunes stubbled with hardy grasses; and marshlands where herons, bitterns and rails nest. Beech, sassafras, sugar maple, shagbark hickory and tulip trees thrive in one of Canada's largest Carolinian forests. Sunlit meadows of prairie grasses grow here among towering oaks and pines in a protected oak savanna. Rare animal species, including the endangered prothonotary warbler and the eastern spiny softshell turtle, call Rondeau home.

Campsite 121  - Just a big field
Rating:

Camp Date: 5/29/2009

This site has no privacy. Most other sites in the park are the same. There are three trees on the entire site-you can't even string up a tarp in the rain. Expect to hear your neighbours snoring and have their kids run through your site. There is a little berm at the back for a little privacy and the site is close to the comfort station. The entire campground is a field-there wasn't even one marshmellow twig to be found. The park itself is interesting with many trails and wildlife.
